Eclipse, Netbeans, MyEclipse , Android OS 2.2, Java, SqLite 3.6.22 Our client an educationists was quite impressed by the attention the mobile phone and the gaming feature of phones draws from kids of all age groups and wants to develop gaming applications on mobile phones which can be used to improve learning among children. The overall idea is to use mobile technology as a viable learning tool instead of being a distraction. As a concept project we decided to build a 2D drag & drop game for kindergarten builds intuition, decision making and motor skills. When it came to choice of technology, we decided to use Android with a view to harness its flash support feature The game flow and logic was decided on factors that would keep a good mix of the learning, pleasure and the challenge elements in the game. Once the game flow and logic was decided, we brought in our design team to create an interface that is appealing to children, keeps them involved, doesn’t bore kids and imparts desired learning. The guiding principle was keep navigation simple, have pleasing graphics and a design that has an approval of an online application store. The concept was quickly approved by the client and it moved into development and it was soon made available to end users. The game was then circulated among a control group of children and parents and feedback monitored. The game received an overwhelming positive response from the parents and kids and encouraged our client to plan more games for mobile learning.

The client wanted to introduce the concept of categories and subcategories where the users could upload the relevant images and kids could drag and drop the relevant card at the right location to win the game. SolutionIn accordance with the client we finalized the actual concept of the project. Our Project management team decided to build a 2D drag & drop game for kindergarten builds intuition, decision making and motor skills. We decided to build the game on Android smart phones so that we could harness the flash support feature of Android Operating System. The game flow and logic was decided on factors that would keep a good mix of the learning, pleasure and the challenge elements in the game. Once the game flow and logic was decided, we brought in our design team to create an interface that is appealing to children, keeps them involved, doesn’t bore kids and imparts desired learning. The end result is a mobile application that brings a fresh approach and keeps the end user totally engrossed through the entire experience. The game allows the kids to slide the puzzle pieces into place. The kids gain cognitive and fine motor skills in a kid-friendly way. The players are provided with a selection of categories and subcategories to choose from. The users could pause or quit the game at any point of time. The application underwent rigorous testing cycles before it was circulated among a control group of children and parents. The feedback was monitored and necessary enhancements were done to improve usability.
