When the investment company found that its customer service representatives spent most of their time servicing client requests for EMI calculations for loans and investments, it decided to build an application that is easy to use and available on Mobile phones. The move was meant to help the company reduce client service time for EMI calculations. As a first part of the project it was decided to build the application for iphone and we were shortlisted to develop the same. The application is available for download from an appstore. It allows you to calculate your EMI, gain valuable insight into principal/interest split and repayment amounts. It offers Property and investment calculators allowing you to work out the cash flow for a property deal will provide or helps you to calculate the returns the investments will provide. The application eased workload of customer service representative and the clients enjoyed the freedom of calculating without bothering the CSR. The challenge was to keep navigation simple, include all features, keep the user involved throughout while working on a small iphone screen. The calculations are displayed in summary view and a tabular view making it easier to analyze key points. The application provides help screens where you need them. The users are provided a selection of calculation parameters. Depending on the type of investment (loan, property or investment) the reports are adjusted and displayed in user friendly formats. The users can send the calculations as favorites and email to family and friends. The graphics were designed keeping in view the user convenience and involvement. The application underwent multiple testing cycles in real user environment, before the final layout and work flow was approved for development. Providing for multiple formulas for different calculation types yet keeping it simple for the user was quite engaging. The application was designed to conform to appstore standards. Our graphic team and the iphone application development team worked in tandem to implement the client ideas and exceeded the client expectations.

Last but not the least UI that would display the information in user friendly formats SolutionOur graphic team and the iphone application development team worked in tandem to implement this native mobile application. The challenge was to keep navigation simple, include all features yet keep the UI clutter free and features easily accessible. The UI was designed keeping in view the different screen sizes that the application could be downloaded to. The display is extremely user friendly e.g. the calculations are displayed in summary view and a tabular view making it easier to analyze key points. Some of the notable features offered by the finance calculator are as follows: Property Calculator: This feature provides an insight into the cashflow a property deal will provide. You can specify land tax, deposit, outgoings and even the type of loan. Reports cashflow, repayments, annual yield, adjusted outgoings as well as adjusted net cashflow adjusted to the chosen repayment frequency. Loan Calculator: This feature helps you to analyze loans to find out the principal/interest split, repayment amounts. You can also calculate how much interest you can save by extra repayments Investments Calculator: This feature helps you to calculate how much the investment will be worth at every step and what’s more you can also calculate the growth of a savings plan with regular installments. Summary & Tabular Result View: The reports are available in summary view and a tabular view ensuring all information is on your fingers when you are discussing your next deal.
