When this cricket & gaming crazy client wanted to develop a cricket game for an iPhone, and put it on appstore, he chose us to give shape to his ideas. It was a novel concept, the game can now be downloaded from an appstore, and you can play matches in the free version and download the paid version for playing tournaments. The application has caught the fancy of the iPhone users for its innovative and fresh approach and is a popular download on appstore and is generating decent revenues for the client. The challenge was to include all features, keep navigation simple to use, keep the user involved throughout the duration of the game while working on a small iPhone screen. The player was provided selection of country, team, and players. The scoring probability algorithm considered Batsman & bowlers skills, confidence and aggression all of which can be adjusted by the player at any time during the game. Designing the graphics and the activity flow such that the user convenience and involvement is not sacrificed required multiple testing in real user environment, before the final layout was approved for development. Designing the scoring algorithm that makes the game challenging and unpredictable to the player was most involving for the developer. The design was set in such a way that the free user had access for playing matches and paid user had facility for playing a tournament. The application was tested to ensure appstore approvals.
