Background

The client sought to develop a portal system that would help the organization to automate the manual log entry and reduce the risks of forgery and draw analytical results from the collected information.

The key requirements were:

• E-log book that could address the drawbacks of using traditional methods of managing shift log books.
• Module for easy task management and employee shift management
• Reporting Module that can automate current manual reports and provide additional MIS for management to make informed decisions.
• In addition the portal was supposed to cater to all the other supporting processes like user management, asset management and secured access etc

Solution

Cygnet Infotech analyzed their requirements of the client and designed a system that kept in view the existing log book procedures and reports and simplifies the work flow besides providing new functionalities; thus maximizing the benefits of automation in the new system.

Some of the key features provided by the system were:

• Book Entry: The tool allows the operators to manage book entry details within the system. The system restricts the users to update entries other than the current date.
• Supervisor/ Admin Consoles using which the users can configure the plant, department and asset details and assign tasks and view the reports relevant to the department assigned to them
• Reporting Module: This section allows the supervisors and admin to generate the MIS reports. The system provides graphical representation of the analytics making it easy to draw inferences.
• Manage Users and Privileges.
• Simple and easy to use UI that has been designed keeping in view the first time information workers
