If you have worried for finding a right baby sitter for your child or about the restricted choices of available sitters, this is about to change. We delivered an interesting site to our client wherein a parent can look for available sitter, choose among options based qualifications, experiences, talents, reviews etc. and book one to enjoy your date or attend to some commitment. The client wanted to setup a platform that could provide a meeting ground for families with elite sitters that have the right mix of education, experience and talents without the hassles personal search. The requirement brief was to the point a clean website, easy to navigate, that provides an interface for Babysitters to register for free, and complete a profile and add their schedule. A membership area for parents where they can search for the babysitters by area code and availability and request services online. When the project was awarded to us we proposed PHP as the platform for developing this site for the babysitters. Our project management team devised the complete roadmap to achieve this project before schedule. Once the project was finalized our graphics team came up with a custom theme that was in accordance with the client concept. On the other hand our development team contributed by creating this custom application that could cater to huge caretaker and sitter database delivered a month before schedule. Some of the notable features provided by the site comprise of a membership based area where the parents search for babysitters using various parameters. The system maintains complete babysitter details starting from comprehensive caregiver profiles including sitter ratings, education, experience, photos, availability schedules, training and certifications etc. The site provides a schedule area where the parents can view availability schedules and book an interview or appointment with a sitter online with the simple click of a button. On the other hand the babysitters can complete their profile details and weekly schedule details using wizard driven dashboards. The site also offers action triggered email notifications such as an email as soon as a baby sitter responds to parents request or when a request is cancelled. A feedback area allows the parents to send feedback for the babysitter which automatically affects the ratings of the babysitter thus making the whole system transparent and trustworthy. The end result is a website that connects family with a reliable sitter or nanny that works consistently with the family's schedule. SolutionWe chose PHP and word press to build the solution for our client. Leveraging the open source features offered by PHP we built this custom solution that was easy to use and manage. The site provides a platform for parent and sitter networking. The parents are supposed to register for fees. As soon as the parent registration is approved they can search the sitter database for sitters that match their criteria of location, experience and availability. Additionally the site offers a sitter section where the sitters can register and upload their information. The information after verification becomes part of the sitter database. The site offers a scheduling area where the sitters can upload their weekly schedule. The sitter dashboard lists all the requests posted by the parents into their accounts. The sitters can accept or deny the requests. A confirmation mail is sent to the parents on each request accepted or denied by the sitter. Search facility allows the parents to search for sitters in matter of clicks. Multiple search parameters allow the users to refine the search and find best sitters in their location. Feedback section allows the parents to rate the services of the sitter. Automatic utility then updates the ratings of the sitters ensuring that the best sitters get their due. The fee is deducted from the parent account on each hire. The Account History section allows the parents to view the list of sitters they have hired and other associated details. Web based admin control provides the flexibility to admin to manage the complete operation from membership approval, sitter account verification, account renewals, sitter fees clearance etc. The rich text editor allows the admin to update the site content as and when required.
