How to Break IT Cost Barriers with a Global Delivery Model – Based on Real Scenarios

While US, UK and other markets have highly sophisticated and mature processes to make outsourcing work, several other countries with increased demand of technology & expertise are unable to make outsourcing work, mainly due to a lack of process maturity and experience.

A case in point is the IT needs of African enterprises. While their booming business needs the fuel of innovative IT solutions, and there is a huge demand for software development services and solutions, the lack of skilled IT talent is holding enterprises back. To fulfil their technology needs, organizations in Africa are forced to hunt for consultants and IT resources elsewhere.

While offshoring would seem like a logical conclusion in the absence of homegrown IT talent, the lack of defined processes, coupled with inexperience in outsourcing, forces businesses to choose a tried-and-tested, but ridiculously costly option of setting up an in-house team, or contracting entire team from an offshore location and making them work in-house. Needless to say, this drives up the cost of development substantially.
